Sector: Manufacture of beverages (C11)

The sector for the manufacture of beverages includes about 4% of industrial production in this country and also creates about 4% of value added in industry.

The level of wages in the sector is close to average. The average monthly wage is estimated at about 700 BGN and provides employment of 14 thousand people (2.8% of employees in manufacturing industry).

The index of industrial production and turnover of this sector in 2010 was deteriorated by 10.1 and 0.1 points. In the sector has been an increase in producer prices (2.5 percentage points compared to 2009).

The production consists of spirits, wines made from grapes, beer, malt, soft drinks, water, etc. These products are the result of activity of the 1700 companies that are distributed evenly in the six planning regions. Can be distinguished companies like Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling, Winery Cave, New Trade, SIS Industries, Kamenica, Zagorka, Carlsberg Bulgaria, Domain Menada, Devin and many others.

The revival of production in the sector affected the dynamics of exports, which in 2010 grew by 7.8%. Sector participation in foreign trade is 0.7% of total exports and 0.8% of total imports of the country.

Staff providing the sector is a result from the operation of 69 vocational schools.
